GrowAZ's First Grow Journal

So I'm already in the flowering stage of these 2 plants but I figured I'd get my feet wet and start a grow journal. So here we go...This grow got a little messed up. I started with 10 seeds from a buddy who crossed a Mint Chocolate OG with a Gorilla Glue. 10/10 seeds sprouted immediately with a massive primary roots. I thought they were going to be good! However When they were about 12" tall 9/10 were showing female pre-flower and one was showing male, I threw out the male and I gave 5 of the females to a friend. He immediately had 3 of his 5 start showing both female and male. This left me with 4 plants. I put 2 into he flower room and kept 2 in the veg room where one of them was going to become a mother. Well things change. One of the girls in the flower room shot out some bananas and bells so it had to go. One left in the flower room now. Then suddenly one of the two in the Veg room started showing off her/his goods too. So I decided to put the last veg plant (she had been chopped down headed towards motherhood so we'll call her Shorty) into flower hence the 2 different flower start times. So here we are, about 2 weeks into flowering plant #1 and 1 week into flowering plant #2 (Shorty). Lets get this Journal growing!!
Strain- Mint Chocolate OG x Gorilla Glue
Medium- fox Farms Happy Frog Soil in 3 gallon cloth pots
Light- Bestva 1000w
Nutrients- Emerald Harvest
Started 12/12 cycle on 6/1/23 for plant #1 and 6/9/2023 for plant #2 (Shorty)
Grow closet = 30"x30"

Plant on the left is Shorty, started 12/12 on 6/9/2023
Plant on the right is the original flowering plant started 12/12 on 6/1/2023

So Shorty started showing what I believe was signs of a Cal-Mag deficiency (I use RO water) so I started supplementing with Epsom Salt. I was using 1 Tbsp per Gallon of water once a week for about 2 weeks. Although the Deficiency appeared to get better the mature leaves on shorty started getting a little curly and crispy which then led me to believe nutrient overload / lockout. I did a tap water flush on 6/15 on both plants but mostly wanting to target shorty. I then watered till Run-off 24 hours later with my regular nutrient water mix PH'd at 6.3 to rebalance my soil. My run-off water PH of the 2 plants was 6.1 and 6.2 so I'm happy with that. Any way 48 hours after the flush Shorty looks better. She is pretty dark green still compared to the other plant so I may lighten up on her feeding for a week and see how she reacts.

I’m very happy that you have your girl on the mend ❤️‍🩹 and I look forward to seeing more from your journal. CL🍀

I don't see any cal/mag issues my friend. May too much nutrients.
Plants have a nice color but I would incorporate a watering ..so( feed,)wait to dry ...(feed ) wait to dry..then water only
Cheers
Yeah, I think the epsom worked for the deficiency but also contributed to the nutrient overload. We will get her back on track soon. She seems to be a strong plant, just going through a bit of a rough patch ;)

Update 6/18/2023
Both plants are looking good today. Plant #1 is just hanging out growing some flowers looking healthy, and Shorty is looking much better. Her mature leaves are not quite so dark green and are not curling anymore nor are they crispy. The newer growth coming in is looking healthy as well. The flush seems to have worked quite well. I'll check back with everyone in a day or two.

You are coasting now, wouldn't change anything up if I were you my friend.. cruise control,!
Looking like you have them both back to prime form. Just continue what you’re doing and you’ll be rewarded for your efforts. CL🍀

Update 6/20/2023
Okay, Shorty is looking better yet today!! She is not ready for a watering yet today but possibly tomorrow. I trimmed off a few of the lower buds and a few fan leaves from the middle to allow more light in. I ruffed up her soil to prepare for her next watering. Beyond that we just wait to water again. Some pictures at the bottom.

Now onto Plant #1. She is still just cruising along. Her flowers are getting bigger and I'm starting to see some crystals. I was going to trim a few lower buds off of her but she is getting quite dry and just starting to droop her fan leaves so I decided not to stress her. I watered with my Mid-flowering mix and added in some Re-Charge Microbial support all at a PH of 6.3. I also switched my lights to Bloom mode today. They have a Veg, Flower, and Bloom setting. I also purchased these Pot Elevators I bought from Amazon. I got 6 for $14 dollars shipped and they arrived in a day. The keep the pots about an inch above the drip tray and seem to be working great. Here are some pics of everything mentioned above. Thanks for checking in.

Update 6/24/2023
All is well with these 2 plants.

Shorty is looking quite nice. She is about 2 weeks into flowering now and starting to show a lot of buds. She got watered on 6/21 with RO water mixed with Cal-Mag and some ReCharge. I'm pretty sure she will take a feeding today. She was getting pretty light in weight yesterday and her new growth is a bit on the pale side so I think she will welcome some nutrients. I have been slowly removing any small buds on her lower branches and a few leaves by about 3-5 cuts per day. I'm pretty happy with the turnaround she has made and am excited to see how much she produces. She has very strong stalks and lots of bud sights forming.

Plant #1 Continues to grow quite nicely and is about 8-9 days away from her halfway point. Her buds are getting bigger and the trichomes are becoming plentiful. She received a feeding on 6/20 with my mid-flowering mix of nutrients with some added Recharge for the soil, all at a PH of 6.3. Yesterday (6/23) she received a watering with just some RO water PH'd at 6.3. Since I installed the Pot Risers and the bottom of the pot no longer sits in the runoff water, the plants are going through their water about a day quicker. Not a whole lot else to say today. Both plants are being awesome, just doing their thing!! Here are some pictures

Hey brother now’s the time that you want to give them all the nutrients they’ll take. I would totally skip the whole straight water routine and just feed until it’s just starting to runoff. Good luck n happy growing. CL🍀. :thumb: :morenutes: :cheesygrinsmiley:
