Growing Outdoors

I got some seeds out of some Hawaiian Haze I had. I had 18 seeds to start. I planted them in the peat starters. 15 sprouted. 4 were twins. Total of 21 plants.

Planted 6 of the seedlings, including one set of the twins, which were separated, in containers. This group was planted with compost soil and the outer wrapping of the peat starter removed. Replanted them after about 8 days.

The remaining 15 seedlings were replanted with container soil mix from the store. 8 have the starter pod netting around them. 7 do not. The six of the seven are from the twins.

The twins were all numbered and lettered to correspond with their other twin to monitor them separately for sex and growth

The plants are now 18 days old. Unfortunately I had to wait until they were 14 days old to plant them in containers. I have been lightly watering them twice a day. In the morning and then the evening. Just been using straight tap water. I may switch some to distilled water and see what effect it may have.

Babies looking great! They will turn into a lot of plant matter outdoors!
Are you planting in containers or directly in the ground?

Going to do the containers. Not a lot of safe open space around me. Once I find out the sex I will remove the males. Then I will keep some. Share some with friends.

Ron, I’m not sure I understand your math here but honestly it looks like it worked in your favor. Don’t give up your secret on how you managed 21 plants from 18 seeds! Haha

In all seriousness (as serious as one can be here) everything is looking on the up and up for you.
:bravo:

4 of the 18 seeds had twin plants. I read most people just discard one. I decided to see what happens when separating them. 21 plants out of 15 germinated seeds is pretty lucky. Maybe I will get lucky and have mostly females....lol. Thanks for the encouraging words.

Full individual plants. 2 tap roots. I wanted to separate them early, before they became intermingled. It was interesting they all sprouted in the same row of starter pods. The twins are between 2 to 3 inches each now.

The weather has been cool the past few days so I backed the watering down to every 72 hours. Plants are doing well. My previous post I stated the plants were 18 days old. It had been 18 days since we started the germination process. The plants are 14 to 17 days old now, depending when they sprouted. Everything seems to be going well so far.

The twins are all hanging in there. Some are not growing as fast, but all are still growing. They are 14-17 days old.
