how to tell a real hermie or stressed out female

my outdoor garden, faceing a wind/rain storm was packed into a small shed for 3 days when the storm was over one of the last plantsto turn female had a few open balls on the lower branches which pollonated the rest. all the seeds were from good seed from europe. are the seeds going to be viable. i grow medical and on a fixed income and could use the seeds. aloha from molokai.kimo

I would not grow them - it's likely that plant was a hermie if it had balls - female pollen generally just comes from yellow pollen sacs that grow from the female flower - if there are male flowers, it's a hermie, and it's offspring are likely to be hermie as well.

Do a test run with a couple of them, and see what happens. I would hate to tell you to throw them out... ;-)

I agree with both answers. usually a stressed female throws out a few bananas and not full fledged male flowers but I've used seeds like yours and had good results. Expecting the male flowers allowed me to look for and pull them off when they showed up. Some of the best bluemystic Ive ever smoked.
