The oakton is good, and you are ok with a 10 dollar ppm meter off ebay. You do need to know where you are starting with your water. Try to get a complete water report and see where the ppms are coming from. Where I live it is sulfate, calcium and magnesium. The ppms here I think are too high so I use RO water.

khobby an RO system would be a good investment. water where I live is garbage, we use RO for everything. plants love it once you cal-mag and PH it.

Here we are mid way through flower an I'm wondering how long I should wait any tips on when to harvest?

Wow, filling in nicely! Best way to determine harvest time is based on your trichomes. Do you have a way to look at them closely? They're the "sugar" looking crystals that should be covering your leaves and flowers.

Not sure if a magnifying glass will do the trick, but it might if it's of decent power. From what I've read, 30x magnification is a good spot for viewing trichomes.

Well hobby, that would be the best way to go about doing it. Checking the trichomes. Any thing other than that would just be a guessing game. The plants look awesome though man glad to see they pulled through. I usually harvest mine right past the point of peak ripeness , a lot of cloudy trichomes like 80% and then just a few amber trichomes.
