Infused oil

First attempt at making this sunflower oil infused with thc from clippings. I went a placed 6 cups of sunflower oil along with 6 cups of Decarbed weed into large pot, then added 4 cups of water & 6 teaspoons of lecithin and placed on low heat. Just want to ask am I going to be able to either skim the oil floating off the top or place in freezer? Am I on the right track or lost after smoking to big of a j

Not sure but I think the 4 cups of water might have been a mistake.

I was thinking the oil would float & the lecithin would allow everything to bind to the oil

Usually the water is for making infused butter. In this case it is ok as it will prevent the oil from burning or getting too hot. No biggie.

After it is done boiling, or whatever heating process you are using, let it cool, strain it, then figure out how to separate the oil from the water... Oh, shit, you added lecithin. That means the oil and water will emulsify together. Oops.

If it is all mixed together you can't separate it but use it all the same. I am sure it will have a kick with 4 cups of weed in it.

Maybe use it like mayonnaise.
