Inline fan noise problem

i am going to be getting a 6" inline fan soon but since i am going to be venting it outside i am scared the sound will carry out with the air. i dont want to spend too much money but the best products available withing a $200 budget.

the vortex looks to be the best.

but is anyone using HTGs Growbright fan? how is it? issues with noise?

I would try to buy a fan that you can see it demonstrated. That way you can judge by the sound. Visit your local garden centers and see what they are using. Whatever product you choose, you will need to walk around outside your grow op and listen for sounds.

the vortex is very good, but its not the fan its self that will make the noise, it will be the air as its pushed out, like a dryer, that makes the sound..

insulate your pipes with some pipe insulation... you can find it at most hydro shops online. also if the fan is vibrating up against something, it can be loud

that stiff aluminum ducting (that you stretch out) creates a lot of noise through vibration, etc. i use that pro flex hose and insulate my fan support. for instance i connect a bungy to the fan on one end. the other end goes to a ceiling mounted hook/ring with some neoprene between the bungy hook and ceiling hook. kill all vibrations possible.

i was going to use some hard pipe but i think i am just going to stick with flex. thanks for the info guys.
