Strange question north is this one someone has given you?
You can usaly tell be nodes they should be level on a seedling and on a side branch cutting they will be staggered and usaly zigzags a bit rarther then growing with one straight cola if its a main cola cutting there isnt realy anyway of telling to in my experience, Someone with more experience in growing might beable to tell you diffrent..
