I have three T5's - 2' 4 tube 96watt with 3 blue and 1 red (I heard that the red adds to stem strength and thickness) - Ill be moving them into my 96x48x78 grow tent here soon. Any idea if this is enough light for the room.
Short answer is no, you have about 15% of the light you will need for an 8x4 tent at 288 watts. The mixture you have is good for veg., but the information is incorrect. Red light promotes stretching and long spinally stems. Check out the link in my signature for more basic information on plant lighting.
I was able to get my hands on a 400 watt HID system (metal halide and HPS - interchangeable parts)
I plan on adding more lights throughout the grow (soon another 400 watt HID), just funds are sparse. But besides that any ideas on, if adding this 400 watt HID will be good enough to run for a while?
Dude save the few extra pennies and get the 600w .
I now have 3 400w wishing I went with 2 600w as this makes it easyer to set up a perpetual room.
Although working with the 400 gave me a great starting point when I finally upgrade
