Just a quick question pleaze help

Hello 420 magazine i just started my grow op about 2 weeks ago i use a 400watt HPS puts out 36,000 lumans(harvest green). I was wondering when starting off new seedlings would it be reccomended to use just cfl bulbs intill it starts forming fan leaves then put it under the HPS? Im just worried about heat would a HPS be to much for a seedling?

Hi Jesse, your seedlings should be fine as long as you keep some distance between them and the lights. Maybe 16 to 20 inches. If all you have is seedlings at the moment I would use the cfls or a t5 florescent just to save energy. Hope that helps

Hey Twox, have you used T5 I am planning on using them to save time and energy up to about 4 weeks I was planning using:

4 x 24W TUBE (96W) CANOPY: -

60cm x 37cm x 7cm

6600 Lumens

Hey twox i have 1 plant thats around 4 inches tall growing fan leaves and 10 seedlings, i rememeber i tried starting a fresh seed off under the HPS but it litterally dried the seed out to nothing but i think that was my fault for not watering it enough also i had it like 7 inches away not 16-20 inches so that could of also been the reason

Hey twox another question how far do you think i should have the 1 bigger plant from the HPS? The bigger plant has been growing for almost 2 weeks now is that good progress?
