I have been doing this a lot lately, Not just with my bud but with everything. I have locked my keys in my car 4 times in the past 2 months. I have never done that for the two years i have been driving. I lose my cell phone even though it's sitting in the open. The best thing is just to retrace your steps, and move slowly while looking.

I usually hide things like that up somewhere and behind something, out of
sight but still easy to grab. I mean if I hide it quickly while cleaning.
Behind a book? In something hollow that doesn't look hollow?
In the fridge??
I always feel so stupid when i DO actually find it, I get that "Aw Shit!" feeling.
