BILLINGS - A local medical marijuana provider filed for the Billings City Council Ward 2 seat Wednesday. Mark Higgins plans to open a medical marijuana store here in Billings July 1st.

Higgins attended Tuesday night's city council meeting to answer any questions council members might have. Higgins says he wanted to be up front with council members, but didn't get any response. Frustrated, he filed Wedneday to run for Larry Brewster's seat.

"Trying to find a place for medical marijuana on the City of Billings agenda is not a high priority but if I get elected I will be sure to have it on the agenda and we will talk about it in an adult like fashion," said Higgins.

The primary election for Billings City Council is in September. So far, Higgins is unopposed. The deadline for filing to run is July 2nd.
