Newbie in need of some serious Hydroponic Set-up Assistance. Please Help

Hello All,

I would first like to thank everyone in advance for all of the information that is passed on to other members on this site. I found this site to be very helpful and I have been reading so much but starting to feel overwhelmed however I am also very excited to have a new hobby. I just moved to California and I wanted to start my own little growing set up. I have a decent amount of space in a basement / storage room in my home. I dont currently have any equipment and I am starting from the very beginning. Please allow me to tell you my goal and my budget and hopefully some of you experts can guide me in the correct direction.

I ordered the cash crop 2.7 but after reading on the forum I have gathered not to waste my money and try and to do this myself. I have since canceled my order and back to the drawing board. Im not very good at cutting and building but this is one project that I am so looking forward to handling on my own with your guidance.

Here is some of my basic details and kindly let me know if you need anything else:
Budget:$800 - $1000
Goal - Grow some fire buds that I can say I DID IT and actually enjoy the "fruits" of my labor. Looking to yield a couple of ounces per plant. I would like to grow 4-6 plants at time with decent yield.
Preference: Grow Tent
Method: Hydroponics
Room Size: 7FT Tall / 7FT Wide / 3FT Deep

Things I need help with:
Supplies:
What type of grow tent should I get?
What type of Light is best for the type of tent you propose? I would like one of those lights that I can attach the ventilation to that looks pretty cool.

If you could provide me with a list of supplies I should purchase that would be great. Start to finish and is my budget ok or would I need to increase?

I know I am asking for a lot but if anyone has the time to break it down for me I would greatly appreciate and I would love to provide pics of my progress as I start getting it set up.

there are not any 7x3x7 grow tents i can find, my suggestion would be to frame your grow area with lumber and plywood then line the walls with black and white plastic (panda plastic) white side facing towards the light. my suggestion would be to use a 600 watt Lumatek digital dimable ballast and a Metal Halide light bulb for vegetative growth and a High Pressure Sodium light bulb for flowering. you will also need a 6 inch cooltube reflector and a 6 inch inline fan at least 400 CFM and a 6 inch carbon filter. if you wish to grow with hydroponics i can help with a selection that may work for you. if you wish to grow with hydroponics you will need a pH meter and calibration solutions, a ppm meter and calibration solution. you will need pH up chemicals and pH down chemicals to modify your waters pH. you will need a pair of scissors i recommend Fiskars 5" Softouch Micro-Tip Scissors to trim your cannabis with. you will need a drying rack to dry your cannabis in. I use General Hydroponics Flora series 3 part nutrients that can be mixed at different ratios for all stages of vegetative growth and flowering, i buy them in gallon or larger sizes as they are more economical that way. you will need 3cc and 60cc-100cc syringes to measure your nutrients with and a short piece of hose for the end of the syringe to reach down into the nutrient bottles. I use portable sprayers in 1 gallon, 2 gallon, 3 gallon sizes to mix my nutrients in depending on the quantity needed, they can also be used to mix pesticides in if you have insects in your grow. have a look at my grow journal in my signature and see how i have my equipment set up. you may ask me questions about how i have my equipment set up in my grow journal, ask me questions about the equipment you wish to acquire and how to set it up here.

are you looking to grow with a veg/flower room setup or just start to finish?the area you described almost sounds like a closet size and in my opinion a 600 watt wont cover the area but since its 3 ft wide by 7ft long maybe 2 400's will do.if its start to finish or 2 rooms that should be sufficient.You could also by two 3x3 grow tents cheap and that would be an easy solution
