Are you growing in straight coco?

A guy I know, swears by it.

He says perlite is a waste of money. Coco has such great drainage compounds, he says it’s not needed. One thing though, he puts an inch or two of washed gravel in the bottom of the pots. Doing so, it prevents any water from sitting at the bottom of the pot.

Welcome to the site by the way!! Looking forward to seeing your plan come together.

Some more info never hurts either. What’s your background like at getting you to where you are today?

Week 3 : I ran into some issues as a first grower being aware of the 'overwatering' stigma I soon came to realise my sick plants needed a big flush twice of 2L nute/ph corrected water. See below thread Sick plant!

I personally agree not to bother with perlite as my fabric pots have plenty of oxygen available and great drainage!
With regards to the gravel I know it prevents roots sitting in water but was also told it retains water?

Week 5: Keeping up to date with the runoff from the coco. The plants are looking a lot healthier and making some real growth. A shame I wasn't more knowledgeable from day 1! Northern lights have stunted growth and is currently in flowering. Easybud is vegging stage.

@Florushingflowers
I’ve never actually tried this method. He was a well known member on a different forum. I’ve always been very intrigued at his methods, so I read a lot of his content. I don’t remember if he touched base on that or not, but! He’s had GREAT success and has pictures to prove all of his harvests. He also has an amazing cloning system that will give you a much, much higher success rate.

That's great to hear others are having success just hope all goes well for me. I'm also in the progress of germinating purple queen and hulk Berry photoperiods! I'll keep these in the loop

I know this ended up being one of those failed journals but I am gonna follow up as this was my first grow. Northern lights was my stunted auto and pulled in 34.8g after a 2 week cure. Easybud is still in the early stage of flower and has exploded with tops and budsites all around! Any predictions on an avarage yeild of a plant this size?

Those are great looking buds!! :high-five:

Any guesses on the plant you posted the picture of? Damn it’s gotta be a 1/4 lb. or more. Depending on how far the buds are that is, can’t really tell.

Any news on that purple queen and hulk berry?
Thanks man, they smell so good after the cure. This plant I must say is atleast 5 times the size of northern lights which pulled 34 so real high expectations

Purple queen and hulkberry unfortunately died! An error to watch out for. Purfumes inside the kitchen roll played a roll in the death of the germinating seeds. I now have Purple Queen and Special Queen currently on day 3 and doing just right
