Novice Grower In Need of Some Advice

I have done most of my research and am confident that my first grow will be successful. I have a few problems though, I'm worried about the smell getting out of my closet and making my place smell bad, and I am unsure of what nutrients to feed my plants. I understand the plants need different food at different times while they grow, I just need to know what products to buy and when to use them. Any advice on what seeds I should use since this is my first time?

It wont smell bad, it will smell good!

Ventilation and a carbon filter. Relativley inexpensive, and does wonders for your plants.

You can get grows under your belt while you learn about nutrients, much like I am doing now. Start off with a good nutrient catered towards veg, and another catered towards flower. Remember to flush before harvest, although some say it isnt necessary. At least read the debate in the first link dadums posted.
