Please help me hide my outdoor plants

Hello 420 peeps. Im a newbie grower and just harvested my first indoor grow. I live in Good ol Massachusetts so I want to go outdoors this season. I can legally grow but I still want to stay private. I have a nice garden and grow great veggies. I want to hide a few plants in my garden this year. I have a cop for a neighbor who has children and family members who are not accepting of marijuana and come over to barbecue. So I would like to stay as stealth as possible. Any ideas?

That sounds like a lot of hoops to jump through.

Ive never grown outside but ive thought about digging a big hole and dropping the plant inside it.

Or

Individual pots and lst the hell out of them to keep them a hideable size but what about the smell?

Especially growing under the sun someones bound to smell it eventually

Thanks for replying. It is a lot of hoops to jump. The cop lives diagonal in front of me so he cant really see outback too much. Another neighbor is venting into the neighborhood so smell isnt a issue ;). What about a greenhouse w 6 mil Thermal Polyethylene Greenhouse Film ? Put a bunch of tomatoes in there too? Temp humidity prob too much?

Wow i was just talking about that with my uncle who kinda fueled my passion for gardening.
We were wondering the same thing!
And had the same idea!

You could open the door and vent it to keep temp and humidity down maybe?

We were thinking that in a way its just to "hide" the plant from being clearly visible unless you were looking for it.

Ive never grown outside before and im starting my first outdoor veggie garden this year

So im just throwin some of the ideas ive played with.

My ole lady told me no and instantly the ideas started flowing

Lol idk what it is
but its like a chemical reaction in the male brain that when we hear no we instantly come up with ways to make it yes.

Prime example our fellow member scrogdawg has one of the most awesome scrogs of white widow ive ever seen...

And its under his freaking stairs!

Out of site out of mind

Same with the tomatoes and cannabis
Thats a great idea! Id go all out and get little green ones too! Lol

I would grow some plants that smell strong. Lavander here in the south we have honeysuckle stuff like that and for visual maybe like blueberry bushes since they are almost the same color

Wow thats not bad. If it didnt look weird that i was building a greenhouse. But the idea sounds like it would work. Lol i dont know if it would look so nice if i tried but it looks pretty cool

I have a big lavender patch in my garden. I was thinking the same thing and taller border plants like peas beans etc.... But a greenhouse may just work. I might build a hoop house Hmmmmm....

If you are only worried about when the officer comes over for Bar-B-Q you could just grow in Smart Pots and bring them inside when he comes over.

Or..... You could pull it in the garage:cheesygrinsmiley:

Most competent policemen are curious and inquisitive. ....goes with the job. I'm not a policeman but if I saw a new greenhouse on a neighbours property, while out there socialising with them, I know I would ask what's in it.....and if the person said tomatoes I would probably ask to have a looksie. Might even be his kids who want to have a look....

If you are going to run with the greenhouse option, I would grow only legit stuff in it for the first year, let everyone in to see what's in there (invite them in if they don't ask to see it) that way when you start to grow your weed in there the interest in it will have waned.

In the mean time, I would pick a south facing wall (preferably in a corner) if you have one and dig a couple of large pot sized holes. Then buy 4 to 6 already quite large shrubs (they can be dear, but you don't have to hang around waiting for stuff to grow big enough) plant them in a semi - circle around the holes. Choose shrubs that get airy as they grow I would add at least one or two roses or other prickly type shrubs to further discourage the curious. Unfortunately I can't show you a long shot of my hidey place for stealth reasons, but that is exactly how it's configured except I did not need holes because my camouflage shrubs are over 6 ft during the growing season. If you keep your girls below 3 feet. Choose boring and unremarkable shrubs so the area does not draw attention to itself. You'll be surprised at how the right natural camo will hide your grow in plain sight.

As they are in pots, in the holes, if necessary you can move them indoors or elsewhere.

Whatever route you go, sounds like it's going to be fun :cheer::Namaste::welcome:

Thank you for the advice. Im in a legal state and can legally have 12 plants. My neighbor doesn't come in my yard. But I want to be respectful and not have 12 plants growing in view. Im a big gardener and garden every year. So a green house or hoop house along a bed wont be out of the ordinary for me. :) However I think my biggest concern is family etc... But like a previous response said keep them in pots and just bring them in when compay will be back there. So next question will be tomatoes be a good companion plat for marijuana? Would peas and greenbeans be ok too?
