Question about cutting plant

So i have this plant and its about 5 days into veg its growing fine i never had a plant before so a friend came and saw the plant wanted to cut it i didnt let him cause i didnt wanted to hurt the plant he said if i top i will be getting more weed is this true? should i cut my plant or just leave her growing like that? and does that causes any harm ?

I prefer FIMing over topping. but I usually wait till like 2nd maybe 3rd weeks. check to see that have at least 2-3 nodes before you do any topping or FIM.

I agree. I will Fim all my plants several times in veg. It will make more "tops" to your plant and produce more.

Autos I FIM(fuck I missed) on the second lateral, Photos I FIM on the 3rd or 4th lateral, just pinch out the growing shoot with clean fingers, allow the plant to recover over night ready for the morning, I do each plant twice once on the 3-4 lateral and again about a month later pinch out 4 shoots on the 6-7 lateral
