What do you mean by large amount? I have never seen it stunt growth, only bleach plants white. If you put a plant 3" from a 1000 watt source and control the heat, it will bleach the plants. It does not kill or stunt them as far as I know. It's the heat that kills, or too much UV from what I understand.
