Question on Mainlining

Good Morning Fellow 420ers.

I am wondering if it matters if you wait to for the plant to grow to the 6th node when you mainline? Can you just top to the 2nd and let those 2 branches grow out to be your mainline? The only reasoning I see from waiting to get to the 6th node is to let the stalk get stronger. Anyone have any imput on this

From what I've read and have been told you don't want to top more than 50% of the main stalk. I'm not sure if that's what your asking though =/

That doesn't leave much photosynthetic apparatus to power the plant. I have a feeling that its growth would be seriously delayed for a couple of weeks at least...
