i just saw that the guy below me has a brain tumor, so clearly i've been aced in the empathy department, however i'm in what i feel is a somewhat uncool predicament. ive had this since i was 18

Neutropenia - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

big fancy way to say that "your immune system fails" it's an autoimmune disorder very similar to HIV or what cancer patients go through.

at the age of 17 i had a botched tonsil-removal which almost killed me and they put me on VIOXX if anyone remembers that gem and i'm sure you can guess that when i learned i had this thing (i was actually initially told it was HIV because i disclosed my sexual orientation) i became super hooked on narcotics and spent 3 years in rehab(s) The only narcotics i've allowed myself in the last 3 years were when i was hospitalized for chron's disease (oh yeah got that too!) and was bleeding out my intestines like something you'd imagine from a Lucio Fulci movie. i took those opiates when i was in the hospital and wheened off them on my OWN volition 26 year old recovered? drug addict. i am also told by people that even though i havent dont any opiates / party drugs / narcotics (i don't even fking drink unless its christmas in ohio) that because i smoke weed that i am a criminal and should not consider myself recovered. Touche

bottom line is that for me and the host of conditions i have i'm being denied access to jobs im qualified for just like i'm sure many of you are. completely disenfranchised in the fact that i chose to treat my chronic conditions (yes i am gonna die from it one day boo fkn hoo) with marijuana which has never proved to be a problem with me as long as i take my lithium (i take that because im crazy as well) thats rx. the same doctors that perscribe me Dilaudid and Hydrocodone refuse to treat my pain with marinol, even in sparing doses (which would still exclude me from drug tests hopefully.)

new jersey is a crappy enough place as it is. i can drive to pa, new york, deleware to see a specialist preferabbly who practices hematology or has knowledge as nobody has this stupid disease.

I am not the only person 'suffering' in this world many of you are too, when i go to get the hematologic treatments it's about a 3 hour infusion with a bunch of differently staged cancer adults and occasionally theres some poor kid as young as 10 i've seen. funny story i talked to a 13 year old boy while we were getting these stupid iv's and i was like wow you're pretty tough. his mom waddles up and whispers "he just got this laptop from his dad and it's upside down he keeps messing with it i called tech support..." she even tried to pay me which i wouldn't let her. so we got his landscape and desktop oriented correctly, he said he liked rpgs and guns so of course i hooked him up with plenty of games and showed him how to torrent. whole point of this ramble is that this kid is dying in a hospital of creepy wheezing adults and he was so insanely overjoyed just to be able to have his new laptop working. by no means am i trying to sound like mother theresa. im wickedly cynical and pretty much the only thing i do besides that is hold the door for old people whenever possible.

if anyone else has neutropenia or similar condition and knowledge of it feel free to im me.
