Slight yellowing of top fan leaves only - First time grower

Good looking plants. A couple days ago we trimmed just a few hairs and a tiny bit of the buds off of most the tops. We kept a couple that we didn't cut for control, to see if what we did made a difference or not. That's called back building. It makes the buds get fatter and no taller. (They ones we have now are quite tall). The buds seem to be thickening up already.
Also, on one of the plants I will take some more of the fan leaves off and mainly leave the smaller ones that are growing on the bud itself. We want to see if that helps with bud growth. We also have a control bud that's similar in size to the bud I will trim. Just thought I'd throw some ideas at you. I hope you don't mind. Have a wonderful day!

We have been trimming those fan leaves off of the babies we are growing. We think they take nutrients that can be going to a bud site.

Form everything I have read they still help a lot with photosynthesis and help the plant breath. I've read to take them off as soon as you see signs they are dying. But please take photos of your 2 as to compare. I am interested to see how it turns out.

I'm not sure the day, but just over 5 weeks in flower. We will start our flush in about a week. We have a 8-9 week flower on these.

Starting to get frosty frosty everyday. Tris are still clear. Starting to get excited as my harvest day approaches. I am in no hurry to rush the harvest though as even this is my first grow. I am thinking of having it tested and entering MI Canibus Cup. Even though it's my first grow ever I believe with the research I have done and the minds I have consulted have put me on the right track for success for this my first grow and all my future grows. I am starting to get the hang of how to record my entries on line as opposed to my sloppy notebook notes.
Side note:
Not sure but I always have music playing when in my grow tent for my girls so as when the fans move the leaves they at least aren't swaying to a fan noise and have some soothing Blues playing.

Anyhow a little stoned right now as wake and baked and went and checked them at lights on. Then decided since I had a beautiful cup of coffee and some BB was playing decided to check all my leaves for mites NONE!!! My Lucy's (lady bugs) I put them in when I started. Are helping me them gone, but are starting to die off. I've put food in for them sugar water and some stuff the horticultural lady at the store gave me. Hmmm. No bugs so that's good! Had a black bear walk through the yard as I was walking out to my grow area in my pole barn that was cool! So after I checked my leaves I scratched my soils first few inches as I watered yesterday and soil seems to be getting very compacted. Roots are air pruning again. Which is a good thing. Cana thanks! I am getting more nervous as everyday passes, as everyone says you mess your first grow up. But with the research I've done and from best friends experience I think I will be ok. It's fun for us to face time and message pics and tips strategies back and forth. I hope your grows going well. I am excited to watch the buds start to swell. I will get my 60X magnifier Tuesday can't wait bought an attachment to connect it to my iPhone so I can take pics with it.... I will be spending some time in my grow area today going to take my nice cannon T5 and take some macro shots then edit them. Will post tonight hopefully.

Lol my wife is here with as well, we are both learning together but it gives us an hour every morning and evening to spend talking listening to good tunes enjoying some good smoke and tending our babies.
