sq ft sog

OK well here it is. I got 5 sq ft. And 53,550 lumuns. Any one have advice on how many plants I could put in sog? " cfl and hps " by the way. I'm using one 26 watt 2700k, ten 23 watt 2700k, 6 19 watt 2700k, four 65watt 6500k and a 150w HP's 2100k. Thanks.

16 or 20 plants on average per 1 m2, most of this is related to seed/strain of breeder & average yield e.g 400g to 500g 1 m2 etc (strain related) with most of that based on a 600w hps used.

Unknown veg time ?

As the rule of the thumb go's larger plants produce more !


I have come across journals some 2 odd years ago tho which the grower used freshly rooted clones & then flipped to 12/12... yup some 50 plants in 1 liter pots in a 4 foot by 4 foot ebb 'n' flood tray on average produced several grams per plant dry weight !


But in my own opinion ya do better with less plants per m2 & vegged slightly longer... more practical with clones as seeds = $$$.

Based on my own calculations on the matter at hand with the average of 16 to 20 plants per m2 & suitable lighting of course, vegged to a height between 8 inch to 12 inch with a duration of aprox 4 to 6 weeks under ideal conditions...before flipping to 12/12 i would suspect a dry yield of 1/2 to 1 oz per plant strain related with a hps set up... to make figures meet.


CFL expect a lower yield !


With your current bulb selection ya running more than 600w...

It would be more practical to change to hps & reap the rewards !

I started 8 seeds and 6 popped the other 2 may be late boomers? But 6 sprouted. I'm placing them in a 5 sq ft spot.mylar on 3 sides with 24,000 lumens of 2700k cfl.plus 6500k 21,000 lumens of cfl,s and 150w HP's. I'm only using the 6500 right now till thay get 4 or 5 inch's then I plan on going to go to all the lights. Witch is 56,650 lumens.I'm also using a 105w 5000k light too. When should I go to 12/12 for the dog. Any help would be great. Thanks......
