Stop the Los Angeles County Dispensary Ban!

The Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors will vote to ban medical cannabis collectives next week, and Americans for Safe Access (ASA) needs your help to stop them. Take a moment today to call your representative on the Board and ask him or her to vote no on the ban.

The call will only take a couple of minutes, but the outcome will have long-lasting implications for safe access all over the state. Other cities and counties may follow suit if the state’s most populous county bans patients’ collectives in the unincorporated communities. We must make a strong stand in Los Angeles County to protect safe access for patients all over the county and to help stop the trend of local bans. Your voice matters, whether or not you live in a city or unincorporated community in the county.

Please take a minute right now to locate your representative on the Board of Supervisors and make a call.

Supervisors are considering a ban because of concerns about public safety and the opening of unlicensed collectives in the county, but a ban is a bad choice. Research conducted by ASA and experience shows that sensible regulations reduce crime and complaints. Banning legal collectives means forgoing these benefits. Supervisors should focus instead on improving and enforcing the county’s existing ordinance, which was adopted in 2006.

As local patients and advocates, you can make a big difference right now. Help ASA prove our community cares about protecting safe access.

Also, Please join us on Saturday for the LA-ASA meeting to learn more.

Thank you,
