Can I do anything about this mess? Should I just throw it out? It dried in 8 days today it looks like this tiny dried out buds if you can call them buds. When I try and trim they just break apart so disappointed

You could try and trim it up into "buds" the best you can, get it in jars and drop some boveda packs, might moisten things up a little bit. You can also take a paper towel, wet it, and put it underneath the lid. The buds will absorb the moisture. Just keep an eye on it, you dont want it too moist or youl risk rot.
If you have one of those small Personal humidifiers, could point it at your branches for awhile and see what happens.
You could also use it all for baking/whatever and say fk it.
Dont throw it out though, its not a loss just yet.
Welcome to the forum by the way.

I know how you feel Prop.
I slightly overdried my first harvest with a fan blowing near them.
I smoked that weed for a couple months and made some damn good edibles with it.
But , I bet you and I will never over dry again. :passitleft:
Growing is a journey and we take some bad turns.
Next time , start a journal and the kind folks here will help thru each step.
Of the many things I have learned in the last 4 grows , when we harvest that plant , we are half way to the finish line. Drying and curing will decide the real success of the grow.
Look into the Low Slow Drying Method.
Welcome and keep on growing ......and smoking.

Trim best you can. Put into jars. Add Boveda packs or any other brand available.

If attempting the Boveda pack method then get the high moisture ones, the ones that are a percentage in the 70s. Might have to go to a cigar, cigarette or smoke shop to get those though I have seen them on occasion in grow shops. I had to harvest a couple of larger plants and ended up with a similar problem and using the 58% and 62% packs just did not cut it. Went to 72% and a bit higher and the moisture returned.

Once the moisture is back in the buds and sticks remove the packs and then drop back to the 58 or 62% packs. But, I never felt that it was entirely successful because the damage had already been done when they harvest was dried to fast. That was no matter how properly moist the greenery was.

I still have the stuff that was over-dried and it is making a good base from my arthritis salve. Smoking it reminds me of the stuff I was getting in the early mid 1980s which helped cause me to quit weed for a long time.
