Trichome development and harvest time: how to get the best high

This is a good point. I'm trying to decide when to harvest and still get as much yield as possible. How to accomplish the highest yield and still a great high. I prefer a clear, daytime functional experience. Is this possible or contradictory?

This is a new piece of info. It is also confusing to a newbie. There used some much distinction between Indica and sativa, as completely different plants. So much so that purchasing seeds or clones. We choose one our the other for personal effects. Growers learn they can choose when to harvest to have either a indica or sativa. Can anyone explain this?

Also which is more accurate, the pastels turning dark amber or the trichomes being cloudy or turning amber. Because my pistils are amber but the trichomes are still clear. This is critical time for harvest.
