Two week old seedling

I’ll keep the light at 24 inches. I tried lowering it to 20 inches and I started to get that canoeing effect on some of the taller ones. If I left it at 20, would it eventually hurt the plant? Also, do you think that it’s over crowding that causes the stretch? Sorry guy this is my first grow. I appreciate everyone’s input

No,overcrowding won't cause stretching, all the plants can "see" is the light.
If,on the other hand, the plants are actually touching,or shading each other, you may see some competition for the "best light",which could involve some stretching.

These are mine at about 2 weeks...wanna race lol. They started to stretch so I adjusted the light height and they have begun to bush a bit tighter. Great advice in these forums so ur in the right place!

25 days from seed. The stretching seems to have slowed down.

I plant my seeds in a CLEAR plastic cup then set that inside a red cup. After a couple weeks I can raise the inside cup & see how much root activity I have without guessing. Good luck, hope that helps.

Great idea. I'm 10 days too late. Next time.

46 days old from seed. These 2 I transplanted into 3 gallon smart pots. I ended up giving 5 plants away to a friend.

That is great! Wish I would have done that.

I also like to cut the bottom off the inside one. And then cut it from top to bottom and line it in the second one. Then at transplant time I just slide the inside one out, set in hole and open it up, and pull it off and bam. Fill in a bit of medium. Transplant done with no jarring of the root system!

Week 6 of flower.
