Have a 30 gallon tank. Stocked with goldfish and tiger barbs i have a pump to a hydroton bed. That i will pump the water into then that will filter the solid waste from the tank my question is if i need to cut back the nitro towards the end of their life cycle can i plant heavy nitrogen consuming plants in the hydroton/filterbed to reduce those levels
