HashGirl's Canna Cream Recipe - Take 2

Canna-Infused Pain Cream - Take 2

Ingredients:

  • 22 grams of beeswax
  • 11 grams of shea butter
  • 10 grams of decarbed Hash Plant
  • 274 grams of sweet almond oil with 174 grams infused with cannabis
  • 15 drops tea tree essential oil
  • 15 drops peppermint essential oil

Supplies:

  • 2 mini-crockpots
  • scale that measures in grams
  • glass containers for finished product

Instructions:

Important Note: Weigh all of the ingredients before combining (except the essential oil).

  1. Add the beeswax and 100 grams of the uninfused sweet almond oil to your crockpot. Stir every so often until the wax has melted.
  2. In a separate crockpot, prepare your infused oil by adding your decarbed cannabis to the rest of the almond oil (174 grams). Stir until the cannabis is covered with the oil. Leave it for about 2 hours, stirring every so often.
  3. When the infused oil is done, strain the oil and add the strained oil to the waxy oil. Stir to combine.
  4. Add the essential oil and mix again.
  5. Pour the finished product into a glass container and let it set until the cream looks like cream.

Finished Product:

I picked up the little bowls with lids from the dollar store. Each bowl is 8 ounces.

And, as I posted previously, it's smooth and creamy and not greasy at all. I haven't tried it yet as I still have a little left from the last batch that I made in March. I didn't get as much cream this time though so I don't think this stuff will last as long.

It smells very pleasantly of peppermint with a hint of something else, the tea tree oil I presume. The smell is very subtle and not overwhelming at all and in fact, I might add 20 drops of peppermint oil next time just to make the smell a little stronger.

Notes for next time:
  • The beeswax pastilles were much easier to work with rather than grating beeswax from a block.
  • Add 20 drops of peppermint essential oil.

October 15, 2017 Update:

I've been using the cream for a couple of weeks now, I think. It feels so good when I put it on. My left knee has been in agony for the past two days and it's the only thing that has made it feel better but at this rate, I'll be making more cream sooner than I thought.

I suggested adding 20 drops of peppermint oil next time (above) but I think 15 is enough now. The peppermint is quite strong.
