Working upwards from the base of plant. The 1st node is the single bladed leaf. Then the next one up has the first set of true leaves. The third node has the second set of full leaves.
Now think of a plant side on, at the top you will have the second set of full leaves as said. Just above them set in this junction to the stem is where your new branch will be forming if it hasn't already began. (this is what I call new nodal growth)
Then bang in the center is the vertical head of the plant which you pop off. This makes those two branch points just below become the very top points and your flux arms!
Once these are established you then take off all the lower nodal growth or branches! :)

GF, in the bottom pic you can see tiny growth points left and right of the scar point. These will grow and become your fluxarms!!!!
