Light upgrade Comments

Ok so a quick update with some questions that hopefully some peops can answer.

So first off the stuff is all set up. Two new Led's in flower. New T5 in Veg. It feels different as soon as you walk in the Veg room. The T5 is bright.. Really bright... The plants in Veg seriously love it.. Well except......

But no they are all growing very very fast now. substantially faster. The extra juice is definitely showing why it is worth it.

The two LED's in flower seem dimmer than the HPS .. well not really but it doesn't feel like the hot sun as HPS does. But it is more true wattage as I was running the HPS at 300W. I recall feeling this way last time when I got my first LED but I have had some good harvests.. So let the spectrum pull off it's magic. I have one PC that is already stretching like mad under them. The two new LED's are going to be for my "height" plants. They will remain move able separate to make it more adjustable. I am going to make the reflector into more of a fixed height as I think I will make that side into a scrog in the future. I didn't like all the maintenance and the fact it locks the plants in place. But certain strains that stretch alot I think it will help regulate it better. Yield of course too....

6 new clones running in the fogger...
For Bama's sake I am trying to pay decent attention to it so I will give the process a break down...

Clones went in and 4-5 drooped flat over night... Clone has 150ppm PH'd to 6 GH (old stuff) nutes with one air stone and the small fogger (it bubbles some too). I gave them one or two top sprays with plain tap and let em be... I realized I was again starving them of oxygen and popped one of the clone pucks out so it breaths even better. Voila 10 hours later all of them stood right back up tall... Bad leaves are still hurt but I lose those usually cloning anyway. so every 10-12 hours I give them a good foliar spray and thats it. No dome stuff. Even the ACDC which is supposedly very hard to clone had no issue's once it could breath. I haven't cloned in a bit so I hadn't recalled how I achieved better air flow in the cloner. Once I recalled it .. really just the next day... Bam it is doin it's thang! No roots yet but they will... they will...

OK so here is where I need some input...

I am just now starting to see some tacoing on "new" leaves in flower and veg. I am not talking crispy. If you look at the new growth leaves the best explanation is they have muscles on the leaves.. Sorta look puffy like. Not dry or crispy. I know I know .. Pic's... I will tonight. The T5 is much hotter and way brighter so I have run temps slightly higher. well not really let me explain. and again this is happening in both so I don't think it is temps. I have not hit above 80 yet.... So what I mean is the new T5 has better intensity.... The base of the plants the temp climbs to almost 80 but the canopy never gets above 75. Not where it is shaded but where the light can get to the tubs around smaller stuff...

So in flower (i know this is backwards) it was 6.0-6.1 ph. and in Veg 5.4-5.6. I have been letting them fluctuate as they wanted to with out correcting it and it has been great to this point.... Plants have grown better this method than any of my other grows.. Thanks VI ...

So I didn't see the "Taco's" until I had just changed both Res's two days ago so all the PH stuff is a moot point as with CES nutes it will now cycle through the PH's for a couple days... PH starts down near 4.3 and last time they went back to the reading above on their own and I kinds left them .. After I diluted flower If i recall back then. I diluted it trying to get the PH down and it always seem to go back so I said f it and let it do it.

This tacoing is not overly concerning yet but I after I post some picks if peops can chime in... This seem only on new growth and I am have growth explosions going off all over the place. So It is not stuntin' nuthin! The leaves are all leaning up better than ever under the new light so I didn't think it was a heat issue. The roots all looked good other than the nute stains... Fresh res with DMZ as usual but I saw nothing bad in there...

So I will sit tight and keep checking to see if it continues or starts to correct...

So also a question... Is a certain amount of tacoing normal if the stuff is still lush? I mean the stuff looks ok as it is part of a lot of growth. Am i seeing something that i should have been seeing before and never did? Actually thinking about it... yah I don't recall seeing it in many other grows.. but anyway...

Have a good day

:peace:
