Random Thoughts - January 2, 2016

  • It's 5 to 2 on Saturday, January 2 and I just ate .374 grams of hash mixed with 1 tsp melted coconut oil and half a cup full-fat vanilla yogurt.
  • It's 2:30 and I think it's kicking in.
  • I wish I could create book collections in the Kobo app and not just on my actual e-reader. It's a pain when it's charging since I can't do anything else with it when it's charging.
  • Eating hash is a learning process. I bought a precision scale from HerbScales.com (this one):

back in September and since that time, I cut up all of my hash into what looked to me like reasonable size chunks and then weighed each piece and added to one of the handy baggies HerbScales provided to me with my new scale with the weight of the piece recorded on the outside of the baggie.

  • I turned out to have pieces ranging in weight from .2 (something) to .605. The first one I tried was .504 grams on October 4 and it made me reallly, really, really high and in fact, I think I was still high the next day, too.
  • The next time on November 28, I ate .395g of hash and I still felt like it was more than I could handle so on December 12, I ate .324g and didn't feel like it was enough so this time, I ate .374 and I'll keep you posted on how I'm doing.
  • My MIL has Alzheimer's and my husband is stressed about her right now, which isn't good for two reasons:

  • It's his last day of vacation before returning to work tomorrow, and
  • I'm in the process of getting really high and part of the point of getting really high is so that I don't have to think about stressful things like Alzheimer's, my husband's stress or going back to work full-time on Monday for the first time since last August.

  • Did you know that Tweed's head office is in the old Hershey building in Smith's Falls? How funny is it that a pot farm is located in an old building that made chocolate?:cheesygrinsmiley::laughtwo:
  • 3:35 - Listening to the radio and exploring 420magazine.com. Feel pretty high especially when I try to think
  • My feet are cold.
  • I can't think and enjoy the music.
  • I was reading the rules for Member of the Month and it said something about reputation points and green points and I keep trying to find that info about me and I keep getting distracted and I wish that every time I posted something here, it would automatically time stamp so I could see where I was in my high. See! Distracting. (4:02 p.m. :cheesygrinsmiley:)
  • Wow, that's bad... I have one very faint green point... Does that mean my reputation is in the tank??? Crap!
  • So I read the rules but what I want to know (and am too high to figure out where to look/where to ask) is how can I nominate someone as Member of the Month? There have been so many helpful and friendly people I've encountered since I joined last June and I'd love to get them recognized. Someone said to send it to the Moderator but how do I know who the Moderator is?
  • Another 420 question - where do I post just general questions about the website not about specific topics???
  • 5:24 p.m. - my feet are still cold especially my right one. I put on warmer slippers about 20 mins ago and I can't remember what I was going to say...
  • It's hard to think when I'm listening to a good song.
  • I'll get back to you.
  • Ever notice how when you're high - crap the music is distracting, which means that I feel better when I stop thinking and just listen but then I feel really high all over again and need to chill a bit...
  • Have you ever noticed when you're high how slowly time goes and how it's like vacation. When you're on vacation (like when you're high), time seems to go really slowly because we're having so much fun, it just feels like we've been there forever? It's only 7:19 but I feel like it's really late as my eyes are so heavy but as long as they play good tunes, they're holding me captive.
  • And, then almost in no time, it feels like time is speeding by... never mind, I thought the clock said 9:37. It says 7:37.
  • Okay, the radio is playing crap now, time to break out the BlueTooth. Let's hope it lasts for awhile; it doesn't always.
  • The problem now is that I'm playing my recently purchased playlist and it's hard to do anything other than sit and enjoy the music. I know, I know, the shouldn't be a problem because then my brain wakes up and I think of all these brilliant things to say and need to write (type) it down before it's gone. :cheesygrinsmiley:
  • It's almost 10. I've been high for more than 7 hours. I'm definitely on the downside and will probably go to bed soon (although probably not to sleep yet - I think my brain is still too active) but my husband is working afternoon shift tomorrow so if I want to hang with him before work, I should get up before noon. And, I still have to prepare the meals for the week, do laundry and call my nephew whose 22nd birthday is tomorrow AND then go to bed super early tomorrow night because I have to get up super early on Monday morning to go to work. I haven't been at work so early since last August. :-(
  • I can't see the emoticons. They're too small to see what they are. Not all of us have good eyes, you know.

MUSIC

Random

  • Silversun Pickups remind me of The Proclaimers in type of music/voices
  • Muse sometimes feels like the Pink Floyd of the 10s (2010s). It kind of freaks me out the same way.
  • Interesting how people on the iTunes website are comparing The Killers and The Bravery. I can see that.
  • iTunes is dangerous when I'm high and listening to good tunes.
  • Although, that said, I usually check the library first to see if I can get an album there first before I buy but the library doesn't always have it especially if it's still pretty new.
  • I was listening to From the Night by Stars and thinking I didn't like it but then it started to seem familiar and I remembered I did like it but it's mainly the chorus I like because it's catchy.
  • Metric is such a letdown after Best Coast's California Nights.
  • I like Metric but it's so much different than Best Coast. It's just harder to like right now.
  • Places You Will Go by Patrick Watson, California Nights by Best Coast and Weight of Love by The Black Keys feel like similar bands to me. I don't love the first one the way I do the other two but they do seem similar.
  • Stressed Out by Twenty One Pilots - it's that singable (melodic) rap thing again that I like -- like Linkin Park, for example.
  • I wish that when I'm in iTunes that I could have a split window with one window in the ITunes Store on one window and My Music in another so I could see what I have compared to what I might want.
  • Rolling In the Deep by Adele reminds me of Respect by Aretha Franklin.
  • I love Audioslave but their guitars are too 80s for me at least.
  • Audioslave reminds me of Collective Soul in style with the instruments and not as gritty in the voice.
  • Of City and Colour remind me of Coldplay; I don't like a lot of either of them but what I do like, I love.
  • Audioslave's voice reminds me of Jack Black or Linkin Park and Adele sort of, too.
  • And, his voice also reminds me of Eddie Vedder, a little bit.
  • Led Zeppelin is another band we used to listen to all the time. We had most of their early albums. My favourites were what I thought of as their first, which was their first and their last, "In Through the Out Door". Presence was their worst album and what ultimately turned me away from them for awhile.
  • My favourite is still In Through the Out Door but I don't have their first album on my iTunes. I do have Houses of the Holy and think it's my current second favourite Zeppelin album.
  • They're just good listening music.

Songs/Singers I Really Like (Right Now):

  • I Am by AWOLNATION

  • Sedona by Houndmouth
  • Sorry by Meg Myers
  • Mountain at My Gates by Foals
  • Get Closer by Life in Film
  • Set Fire to the Rain by Adele (she really does have an excellent voice yet she's one of the singers I'm still unsure about until I listen to something by her)

Just Good Music If I Don't Think About It Too Much:
  • Eddie Vedder
  • Radioactive by Imagine Dragons
  • Lorde - she's a really good singer - she reminds me of Andea Lake a bit (voice and music)
  • Of Monster and Men
  • Mountain at My Gates by Foals
  • Kaiser Chiefls
  • Adele

Music Which is Better With My Eyes Closed But Make Me Feel Super High:
  • California Nights by Best Coast

Songs that I Love More than I Normally Would Because of the Lyrics
  • New Americana by Halsey

Songs/Singers I Really Don't Like When I'm High:
  • The Strokes
  • Muse
  • k-os
  • Broken Bells (I like the music sort of, I just don't like his voice)

Catchy Tunes:
  • Like A River Runs by Bleachers
  • Orleans by The Standstills
  • the chorus only in From the Night by Stars

Bands I Like But Underappreciate:

  • Kings of Leon
  • The Bravery
  • The New Porographers
  • Goo Goo Dolls
  • Of Monsters and Men (I really like Of Monsters and Men. I should check out newer stuff.)
  • The Racounteurs
  • The Who (I Love The Who, at least their older stuff but unless I hear it on the radio, I don't put it on much - I've seen them 3 times. Some of my best experiences with music and being high were with The Who.)
  • That's why I need to maybe listen to Classic Rock more often but we'll see. I do love Classic Rock but I love more Alt/Indie Rock bands right now.
  • Adele
  • Audioslave

Bands/Songs I Just Don't Like:
  • Bruce Springsteen - I do like his music and lyrics; I just don't like his voice. It's like listening to Frank Sinatra or Bob Dylan.
    • My husband can't get over me saying I don't like Springsteen. He just can't believe it. I told him Springsteen is like rice. I might have liked him once but I got Springsteened out the same way I did after eating rice at every dinner when I was a kid.
  • The Hives
  • Elle King (I find Purity Ring to be a similar type of music but for some reason Elle King's voice was more grating to me than Purity Ring's)

Music That's Just Good to Zone Out To:
  • Of Monsters and Men
  • Survivor Guilt by Rise Against (who reminds me of Linkin Park but not as good, which reminds me that I had tickets to see Linkin Park and Rise Against last February but they cancelled the show due to an injury to a band member (broken ankle, I think) and that really pissed me off. I was so looking forward to seeing them. I wasn't going to have to go to Toronto to see them. They were playing in Hamilton, less than half an hour from home.

  • Rolling In the Deep by Adele
  • Audioslave
  • What It's Like by Everlast (it's like Linkin Park to me)
  • Dog Days Are Over by Florence + The Machine
  • Fun
  • D'yer Mak'er by Led Zeppelin

Bands I'd Love to See in Concert:
  • Audioslave
  • Linkin Park
  • Green Day (I've seen Green Day before, too but that was almost 7 years ago now. I'd love to see them again.
  • Arcade Fire
  • Elton John
  • Our Lady Peace (although we saw them last June at Burlington's Sound of Music Festival, which by the way was AWESEOME but I'd love to see them again)
  • Mermaids Exist
  • Led Zeppelin (the original members)

Good night, all. It's 10:01 and I'm heading to my bed.
