Newbie looking for advice

I am a first time grower long time smoker. I failed horribly my first crop started off with 6 bag seeds they produced beautiful crops until 8 days into flowering when I discovered I had five strong males and one female :thedoubletake: I removed the males and continued flowering the single plant. Two weeks into flowering I discovered a infestation of spider mites. :-( After doing some research I decided to try neem oil. Not sure what I did wrong, but I destroyed my plant. It dried out to almost nothing, so I decided to start over. This time I cleaned my room thoroughly took down the reflective wall paper and painted white, ordered feminized iced grapefruit seeds from Sea of Seeds, bought organic soil , organic bat guano, diatomaceous earth, then for fertilizer is going to be fish emulsion and Dr earth mediblic transformer. I have not heard anything horrible about any of these products so going to give it a whirl:thumb: I am only growing two plants for personal. Any advice or growing tips would be greatly appreciated:thanks:

Well Thank wise women, I have very little grow knowledge. Where I am from it is hard to find and super expensive but it is the only medication I am able to take that doesnt have the horrible side effects.

After applying the neem oil you should have washed it off the next day if you hadn't already in a few hours. Leaving the neem oil on the plant caused an oily build up on the leaves which in return suffocated the poor gal :( I recently ran into mite problems. I treated it by spraying with a water solution i made up of just high ph. right around 8.0 It knocked the little guys right off. I then took a sponge cut it up and made a mite shield by dipping the sponge in a mite repellent solution called liquid lady bug! then i sprayed my babes with neem oil to kill any remaining mites then survived the storm of high ph!. 2 hours later i thoroughly washed each leave with water to make sure all the oil was off the leaves and then checked the plants every week after repeating this technique of they remained on the plants and never had to much of a problem since i keep a very tidy room just got some dirty gals :(
