How to find best LED Grow Light

What you need to look for in an LED Grow light is the power of each individual LED. Generally you will find 1W LED or 0.06W LED light. If you buy 0.06 LED bulb system since it is cheaper you will not get any effective results, it is just waste of mony & electricity both.

You will find new 3W LED Grow light , which is really effective and more power full. If you need good results you need to to buy 3W LED grow light.

I love my led growing lights. I switched out my 600w hid light for a hydrogrow 126x pro which was 899.99. The price is pretty high but after seeing the results that price didnt matter. I grow in a space that gets pretty warm and when i made the change the heat was no longer a facter. I also could see my elc bill cut in half right away which is nice. I continued to search for led grow lights and found a led light company that sells similar grow lights. the Lights were a lil cheaper and had a higher output. I bought there 210w pro for 699.99 with the same warranty. The Lights work wonderful and i plan on gettin a few more after my harvest. that site is optic-lights.com. I will be posting pics soon

LEDs are the bomb. I been growing for 30 years, and nothing beats experience. Yeah, HPS and HID were good. But that was when electricity was cheap, now, another story for another day. LED has cut my energy use in almost 1/3. Same bud weight, same quality smoke. I agree with first reply, get a strong LED. You can PM me if you want details. Just don't trust anyone that hypes a certain brand.

LED grow lights sold today are all built with similar LEDs, heat sinks and power supplies but the amount of money each company asks per watt the light uses is vastly different. Every LED grow light has two different outputs, heat and light. The amount of heat output and the amount of light output are very important and should be considered.
To determine how much heat a light puts out ask for the maximum operating temperature of the lights housing output point. This temperature should not be over 105 degree F. If it is over this temperature or the company refuses to give this information then you are probably going to have more heat per watt than you want. The other thing to consider is actual wattage consumed.

I use LED's for my reef (no "er" on the end :1:) system...was curious what colors you experienced LED growers were using. Do you veg and bloom with the same colors or change them through the various stages? Thanks in advance for any replies.

It is clear to Me that the implementation of white/warm-white is of importance. How come no one is addressing this matter? Claims from above on recommended website clearly states:
-" Plants convert energy into food using light in the blue (400nm-450nm) and the red (600-650nm) spectrum. Any light outside those spectrums is wasted light that the plant can not use. Our LED grow lights are set up to output only light that the plants can use. That is how and why LED lighting is so efficient in growing."

They base this knowledge on what testgrow? And on what kind of plant? What is the source?
I strongly disagree in that statement based on the lack of evidence to support their claim.
There is also the possibility to build LED grow lights without the need of built in fans using the right current technology of the best diodes, chip and design.

There is a sponsored LED light company here on the forum, however they can not provide any details regarding their products? And their website, You guys take a look. However if they are a Chinese based company and have the technology It would be nice to hear what diodes, chip and material they are using and what the cost for designing and branding My own series of professional LED grow-light for my own company..

PS.
Is it anything I am missing due to the fact that I am relatively new to the structure of this forum? I might be looking/searching in the wrong places for the best and latest regarding LED lighting?
DS.

Sincerely Michael.

Hi friends,

I'm just starting up, and am looking at getting a 5x5 Gorilla Grow tent and with LED light.

After researching i have concluded that either a 700W or 900W Mars II full spectrum LED from LG LED would be the best buy at the moment, with prices at around $400- $460 respectively.

I did look at the new ChloroBA 255W LED, but after finding out it was priced at $1500 that became a non option for me.

Would you agree with the Mars II conclusion, and which size would be best for my 5x5? My budget is around $500 max.

Thanks for your help :)

Quick checklist:
1. Choose LED fixtures with adjustable output spectrum
2. Select LED fixtures with high power cooling system that works
3. Look for fixtures that are mounted on a metal core printed circuit board, which is a space technology that operates electronics at high temperature
4. Make sure your circuit board is mounted to a sizable heat sink, preferably one with several fins
5. Consider LED fixtures with constant current driver circuit
