  • right on , you have really crappy water, mine is 180ppm 6.8-7.2 from well, 0ppm fe, 60ppm Ca, 60ppm Mg, 60ppm K, I use r.o. anyway. So I wont try and ph balance with k,ca or mg and adjust with k hydroxide for up. how long have you been on the lower ph solutions? I was a 5.8-6.3 with 6.0 optimal target for yrs. I suspect that the ppm of calcium should be close to = of that nitrogen or potassium to make nutes available to or plants, any thoughts on that also. am I posting in the wrong place for this stuff
mico first brother always that the rules i live by and old school grower told me that a long time ago.nomatter what nute you use mico first.then do all your other nutes.I try not to hit my water to hard with up or down till it sits for about an hour.I have not heard of any ill effects from water buffers.I try to get my ph to 5.5 in hydro and let it walk up a full point as nutes are absorbed at different ph levels.mico doesnt work as well if added after that what i am told.dont be afraid of the buffer they will not hurt your mix.I have very hard well water and have had no problems with any nutes but house and garden they do not work for me.my ppm is 300 to start lol and my ph from my tap now is 6.0 to 5.8.Hard Acid water is all i have to work with.
