    Leds

Good info Hose. I would also like to add that whites are the leading LED in terms of efficiency and power. So you get more light by using more whites, mix up the Kelvin temps to balance blue (Cool) and red (Neutral/Warm) peaks.

    Best spectrum from LED

I believe you are after higher irradiances. More whites of different Kelvin temps.

How many watts are needed to grow?

Re: How much watts is needed to grow? For good efficacy, probably at least 200 Watts per square meter for bloom. For heat reasons, 26 Watt bulbs have the best light output for minimum heat. Once you go over this wattage on a single CFL, it will not be much more light gain than it is in heat...

    LED Lighting

I run my Cree LEDs with 500mA at 2.3V for red, 500mA at 3.2V for white/blue. So my 1W LEDs are about as powerful as those, and I actually know the specs of my light because I have the Cree data sheets. There is nothing too special about these 3W units since they under drive them at 2W or...

    LED Lighting

Can you clear something up for me? I have an issue with LED companies and their light specs. It seems basic electrical math escapes them. 600W Quantum LED Grow Light LED Qty: 288 LED Type: 3W Single Chip LED Wattage: 864 (288 x 3W) Actual Power Draw: 550 Watts Amperage Draw: 4.6A @...

Is an LED Stealth box available on the market?

I have a prototype that I just flipped to flower. Looking good so far. Temps and odor under control so far. The only mod I might need to really work on is the micro carbon scrubber. I have a couple designs I am playing with to see which works the best and will last one complete grow before...

    Vacuum packing your cured buds

Re: Vacuum packing your cured buds. I've done it in a bag in vacuum, don't do it. It breaks all the trichs. Use the mason jar attachment to seal the mason jars.

    LED vs. HPS

Most failure grows under LED are by those who didn't do the math. Figure what wattage you need for your area, and get that wattage in LED. 300 W/m2 for budding gives good results. Correct wavelengths and color mixes help photosynthetic response as well.
