Yes, I have developed a method called 2 stage watering. Anytime you find that you have to wait more than 3 days for the container to dry up all the way to the bottom, you need to do a mini-watering, using about 1/3 what the container would normally take, attempting to only water the top spreader roots that extend along the surface of the soil to about 3" deep. If you continue your water/nutes/water/nutes every 3 days with just enough to soak in 3" but not drop down and add to the water table, you will keep the plant's metabolism up and rapid growth. Keep doing this every 3 days until the bottom catches up, and then properly water the entire container again. Each time you cycle you should end up with stronger and stronger roots, and eventually the entire container will dry out in the 3 day and you can discontinue the 2 stage watering technique.

If your space allows you can direct a fan towards the soil to help with drying.
