11th Annual Medical Marijuana Benefit Concert

You might be able to look into our eyes and deduce we've just finished hitting the ol' bong, but don't mistake our chill demeanor for apathy. Our red-eyed intensity isn't saved for the enforcement of "puff, puff, pass," and we voted yes for the initiative "no stoner left behind." Imagine us with a smoldering blunt in our hands, but with a sense of social equality in our hearts. We are the people, and we're fed up with the government's hypocrisy. And since we think it's wrong that we have to sneak around for a dime bag, but Newports are available 24-7, we'll be rockin' out at the 11th annual Medical Marijuana Benefit Concert at Tobacco Road (626 S. Miami Ave., Miami).

This isn't about listening to Pink Floyd and giggling at Cheech and Chong. This gathering of like-minded individuals will raise funds for the National Organization for the Reform of Marijuana Laws' campaign to loosen restrictions on patients' and physicians' right to use and prescribe medical cannabis. Bands such as Johnny Dread and Sweetbone will hit the stage, and community activists will add the intellectual fuel to an already blazing inferno. Admission is 12 bucks, and the party will rage from 4 p.m. to 3 a.m.
