i have a Lummi 600w digital ballast ive been using in a room i do full cycle grows in. i now hav another room so i can split flower and veg. i have another ballast, a standard 600w which ill use in the flower room an want to use the digital in the veg. i am only planning on having the digital ballast set to 400w but was wondering 2 things.
will the ballast still require the same amount of electric consumption to run on 400w as it would 600w or would it consume less
would i be able to run a 400w bulb in the digital ballast as long as i keep it at 400w without issues.......i ask this because a friend needed a quick fix with his 400w set up and i had a spare 600w bulb, so i had a quick read online and found its okay for a quick fix but it would decrease the bulbs life and woulkd not put out the full spectrum expected so dont want to waste a bulb if theres another way of doin it
