In today's hyper-radicalized political environment, there is one thing nearly all Virginians agree on: Doctors should be able to recommend medical cannabis in the Commonwealth.

If you live in Virginia's 2nd congressional district, you can help protect Virginia's newly regulated medical cannabis industry with quick action.

Rep. Scott Taylor serves on the House Appropriations Committee. Congress is expected to vote before the August recess on the Rohrabacher-Blumenauer amendment for the 2018 budget. This protects state-authorized medical cannabis programs from Department of Justice interference. The amendment was originally passed in 2014 and 2015 as the Rohrabacher-Farr Amendment but these protections expire September 30th.

This is especially critical to Virginia, as the Commonwealth just signed it's medical cannabis program into law. Before ever getting off the ground, it could be crippled by federal interference. Congressman Taylor supports states' rights and common-sense cannabis reform. Rep. Tom Garrett (R-VA6), who introduced a bill co-sponsored by Rep. Taylor to end federal marijuana prohibition, said, "'Virginia is more than capable of handling its own marijuana policy."
