Activists took to the steps of the New Jersey Statehouse on Sunday to push for the legalization of marijuana. Several speakers called for reforms to drug sentencing laws, which activists claim unfairly target minorities. They also called on Gov. Chris Christie to stop "interfering" with the state's medical marijuana program and instead do what he can to help patients. More than 250 people took part in the rally, including medical marijuana advocates and those who want the drug legalized, according to published reports. Many participants ended the rally by publicly smoking marijuana. Several state troopers were monitoring the event, but it did not appear that any arrests were made.
