Hi,
I am on the Texas coastline. Ike hit with much force and even us south of the eyewall suffered surges that destroyed the parks and beaches and wildlife on the coast. North from Matagorda on up to the La. Coastline got reamed bigtime. No one in Galveston is doing well, and only parts of Houston and peri areas there have electricity.
Many families and co-workers evacuated but I did not because we had to prepare to evac our little patients (real babies) and go with them but in the end we did not have to. So we are lucky.
Now the boards come down and life is returning to normal and a cold front (??what is that???) Bringing us much needed rain and temps in the mid-hi eighties instead of 90's!

No I dont know about spring. Usually the southwest side of Houston gets flooded even in bad rain but I dont know anyone in Spring or real close to them . Sorry.
