An October police investigation sparked by a tip has led to the discovery of
an active marijuana sales network that involved students from three local
high schools.

No criminal charges have been laid, although the students have faced school
disciplinary action and have been referred to the appropriate counselling.
"We want to work with the students, the parents, and the schools to ensure
these students understand the serious nature of their actions," RCMP Const.
Peter Thiessen said. "They're not necessarily bad kids, but they used bad
judgment in getting involved with this type of activity."

The police investigation is continuing.

"Our school liaison officers continue to get tips from students in their
schools, and we're still following up on those tips. It's certainly nice to
see that students are trusting our school liaison members enough to pass
along information."
