If in your recipe you need to have it in a liquid form, if you were to make cookies or a cake or whatever, then you don't need to wait for it to cool down and get hard. I'd use it in it's liquid form.
^ No you do need too because the process of putting it in the fridge seperates the cannabutter from the waste water, lol trust me I learned the hard way. You can just melt it back down in the microwave the next day
