Can a young plant in veg get pollinated?

Hi There,


I had some hermies in my flower tent. I know everything in there was likely to be pollinated.. but I have about 40 plants in various stages of Veg nearby. (not in the tent but in the room)

Are they likely to already be pollinated as well? or will they not be fertile until 12/12 is induced?

Until a female plant is half way or so into flowering she can't be pollinated.

Keep in mind that pollen can be viable for around 14 days after release. Stirring it up, even if males or hermies have been removed, could still cause pollination.

Great, thank you.. I have scrubbed down every surface with a 10% bleach, 3 times now and will do so a few more times before it's all over. I just was worried about the little girls.

By the sounds of it they should be alright.

Did you just have one strain herm? If you had more than one do it that would lead to an environmental cause verses a genetic predisposition.

It took my three and a half indoor grows to realize that I had a power strip inside my tent with an indicator light. Gave me herms every time.

So far one strain.. but I totally blame environment though.. im way new and i had a humidifier that has a light when it needs refilled in the tent.. as well as a little heater that kinda glowed red when it kicked on..

YES IT CAN!

As C HempHog says, no hairs = no pollen grabbers.

BUT most plants show pre-flowers, those CAN catch pollen and make seeds WITHOUT the plants ever seeing dark!
It's a GREAT way to make seeds from a male & female when you ONLY want just a few seeds, you can over veg the plant ie no dark, pick the seeds (it's easy cause the seeds will ONLY be in the V right along the main stem) THEN flower the plant for SEEDLESS buds,

Yes get seeds off a plant and have seedless buds!
