LOS ANGELES/NEW YORK (Hollywood Reporter) - Chris Marquette and Cam Gigandet will star in "Kid Cannabis," the true tale of Idaho suburbanites who built a multimillion-dollar marijuana ring.

Marquette plays the title character, who with his best friend (Gigandet) runs marijuana from Canada into Idaho and makes a killing. The feds eventually are alerted to the scheme, and the two realize they might be in over their heads. Aaron Yoo ("21") also has been cast.

The film is being directed by John Stockwell, whose script adapts several articles on the subject, including a Rolling Stone piece titled "Kid Cannabis: How a Chubby Pizza-Delivery Boy From Idaho Became a Drug Kingpin."

Marquette next appears in Disney's "Race to Witch Mountain."

Gigandet was one of the stars of "Never Back Down" and next appears in the horror film "Twilight."
