A man and woman are facing drug charges after members of the Abbotsford
Police drug squad stopped a car believed to be involved in a
"dial-for-dope" scheme Thursday night.

Abbotsford Police Const. Shinder Kirk said officers are coming across more
and more of the drug order cases.

A person will phone their dealer, who will arrange to meet the purchaser at
a certain location. The dealer will drive by the arranged location, and if
it appears safe, sell the drugs, he said.

"It's becoming a common way for those people who would like dope to receive
their dose," said Kirk.

On Thursday evening at 8:25, officers spotted a Honda CRV pulling away
shortly after an apparent drug deal in the Meadowfair Shopping Centre
parking lot, at the corner of Clearbrook Road and South Fraser Way. Cops
stopped the sport utility vehicle on Trethewey Street and seized a quantity
of crack cocaine, heroin, marijuana and a substance believed to be powder
cocaine.

A 23-year-old Abbotsford man and a 20-year-old female formerly of
Chilliwack were arrested and are facing drug charges.
