Brant Will, candidate for District 1's County Supervisor seat, announced on his official blog that he supports safe access to medical marijuana in the communities where patients live.

On his blog, the candidate admonishes Imperial Beach city officials for their actions in banning safe access when he writes; "It is not the prerogative of elected officials in San Diego County to decide whether or not individuals should have reasonable access to their medicine."

Will goes on to say that, "San Diego County and the incorporated cities in San Diego are letting patients down."

Brant Will (D) and Greg Cox (R) are the only two candidates running for District 1's County Supervisor seat on the June 5 ballot. Although Democrats outnumber Republicans in Dirstrict 1, Cox has ruled the seat, conservatively, since 1995 and is backed by the Republican Party.

As County Supervisor, Cox voted to enact the State's strictest regulation to allow access to medical marijuana in the unincorporated area of the county. So far, only one remotely located dispensary has been able to comply with the county's ridiculous restrictions.

Will has been the Deputy City Attorney for Finance and Disclosure with the San Diego City Attorney's office for the past six years and is endorsed by the local Democratic Party.

San Diego County's District 1 includes the cities of Imperial Beach, Coronado, Chula Vista, National City and many south San Diego communities.

On June 5, compassionate voters in District 1 who are sensitive to the needs of the most vulnerable citizens will finally have the option to cast their vote for a County Supervisor who shares their concerns.

Your vote only counts when you cast one.
