White Springs, Fla. - The White Springs Town Council approved an ordinance that established a temporary moratorium on marijuana dispensing businesses at a meeting Tuesday, Oct. 11.
This comes in anticipation of an amendment that, if passed in the general election, would allow the use of medical marijuana for individuals with a debilitating medical condition.
The council members would like an ordinance similar to a liquor store ordinance to control where a dispensary could set up in the town.
The moratorium will give the council time to create and pass an ordinance that restricts the locations of dispensaries.
