Grow Tips Please

Hello I am planning on trying my first grow. So far this is what I plan on doing

Getting an old pc case and tinfoiling it out and just getting a power strip and some good lights at the top. I plan on wiring some pc fans in it to.

What I would like to know is

What kind of light bulbs do I need and how long do they need to be on.

What kind of soil

How to start seeds good

and just any general good tips.
