Law enforcement seized 91 pounds of marijuana after a high speed chase between Bisbee and Douglas.

An Agua Prieta man, whose name was not released, was traveling through Bisbee when an officer from the Department of Public Safety stopped him for a traffic violation.

The Agua Prieta man stopped at the side of the road. When the officer approached the car, the suspect fled and the high-speed chase began.

The officer chased the man westbound through the Bisbee tunnel. At the end of the tunnel, the suspect quickly turned around and headed back toward Douglas.

At the Bisbee traffic circle, the Bisbee police followed the suspect, said Tim Wiedemann, an officer for DPS.

Wiedemann said the suspect was traveling at about 100 MPH.

When the suspect reached the Douglas city limits, law enforcement spiked his car.

He jumped out of the car and fled somewhere between 15th and 16th Street.

About 30 minutes later he was arrested trying to cross into Mexico, Wiedemann said.

In the car police found six bundles of marijuana, weighing 91 pounds.
