How high does the ph need to be to kill plants

how high can the ph relly get beore killing plants in hydro dwc
and is it normal for the ph to change every hour if i use tap water

As one grower in here said, "check the pH every hour and it will be different". What is your pH when you add the water, and what is it say four hours later?

I know from my own experience, at first I was trying to keep the pH right on. Waste of time and effort, which I think actually caused more pH problems trying to adjust it all the time.

when i add the water my ph is at about 7.2 i add downer and get it to 5.6 then wihin 4 hours its back at 6.9
